What is your name or artist pseudonym?
Helena Lacy
How would you describe your practice?
My practice lends a playful approach to ceramics - learning with our hands, interacting and discovering.
The way a sculpture feels in your hands is very important to me and I like to use shape, texture and repetition to achieve this.
The main themes behind my work are the female body and nature.
Do you have some of your artwork examples you could share with us?
What/ who are your artistic inspirations?
Arp, Ken Price, Maria Bartuszová, Thaddeus Mosley, Takuro Kuwata, Ron Nagel, Noguchi, Tessa Eastman.
Do you have any interests outside of art and design?
Art and Design are definitely my main interests but aside from that being in nature, camping. Travelling. Eating good food. Oh and definitely falling in love with most animals I see, apart from wasps, can't stand them!
Do you have any plans/ideas for things you would love to do in the future?
I would love to run my own artist residency one day with a bit of land and some farm animals and while I'm dreaming let’s add in an anagama kiln.
